IME – Marchigiano Institute of Enogastronomy – represents a multifaceted project, the first of its kind in Italy. Born thanks to regional law no. 49 of December 23, 2013 (which entrusted the management of the hub to the Marchigiano Institute of Enogastronomy), it unifies under a single brand high-quality products from the Marche region. The goal: to become a platform and a point of reference for schools, hotel institutes, businesses, restaurateurs, but also producers, tour operators, tourists, organizations, entities.
The institutional headquarters is in the historic center of Jesi, in the spaces of the Old Palazzo Balleani. It is the gateway for made in Marche: a catalyst for incoming Italian and foreign operators, for business and tourism in the territory.
Already operational since 2018 with the IME Experience, the Institute has expanded thanks to L.R. 30/2008 – DGR n. 1089/2020 – Initiatives for the enhancement and promotion of the agricultural food of the Marche region. IME has launched even more specific projects such as the cooking school, a streaming room, and the “Taste Trails”.
Our goal is to transform “many Marches” into one unique Region, creating a system that does not prejudice the peculiarities of each territory but rather coordinates them so that they can face the dimensions of the international market.
With IME we systematize a supply chain, the agri-food one, which in 2018 reached an export value of 366 million euros, with wine alone accounting for 20%. Territory, agri-food products, and culture must increasingly be a strategic asset to relaunch the regional economy. The hub aims to represent and promote them, through a multifaceted collaboration of producers, entities, universities, and the tourist sector.
